Banned substances in Anti-Fouling paint
Did you know that the Environmental Protection Authority of New Zealand (EPA) prohibits a number of hazardous chemicals commonly used in anti-foul paint?
Anti-fouling paint containing these substances will no longer be imported or made in New Zealand after 1 July 2023:
– Diuron
– Octhilinone
– Ziram
– Thiram
– Irgarol
– Chlorothalonil
Please ensure your boat uses only approved anti-foul paint to minimise the risk to New Zealand’s environment and human health.
